Some office questions follow a pattern. The first time someone asks me "how do you remove 3M double sided tape?", I know they already tried pulling it off and left half the adhesive on the wall. Red top, skull cap, and the part-number habit

The only way to be sure is the part number.

It sounds inefficient, but it's faster than ordering the wrong item and explaining to the maintenance team why their "red top" doesn't fit their sander. Removing 3M double sided tape without wrecking the surface

- Once the main tape is off, remove the residue with oil, isopropyl alcohol, or a dedicated adhesive remover. Rub with a soft cloth, then clean the surface.
- On glass or glass-ceramic stove tops, use a razor scraper at a shallow angle. You can remove dried adhesive the same way you remove burnt-on food.
